2 Months Old

It’s hard to believe that my little guy is 2 months old today! Time is flying and I’m dreading the days of leaving him and going back to work. I feel very fortunate that my husband has a job well enough to provide us with the opportunity to let me be off work for 3 months!
Blaine is getting very excited for his first big trip tomorrow. We will be leaving the sunny, 70 degree days for the cold, snowy ones in Michigan! Sadly, I couldn’t be more excited! I have to admit, I’m slightly nervous about traveling with my little guy, but everyone keeps telling me how easy it is…I’ll let you know!
Last week Blaine got all of his shots out of the way before our big trip. He is measuring in the 36th percentile, which seems hard to believe considering how much he has grown…but he’s still just a little guy. He weighed 10.8 pounds and is 22.5 inches long. He has definitely come a long way from the
5lbs. 13oz. he weighed when he was born. We have officially retired everything newborn and he even wears quite a few 3 month onesis. So far, he still has the blue eyes Mommy loves and hopes will stay!
He looks like such a little man to me now. He is definitely more playful and animated. I can get him to start laughing most of the time when I’m changing his diaper. He loves to just kick and kick all the time and he's getting the hang of holding his head up. When sitting in his bouncer, he will kick the button to make it vibrate on and off. He loves to look in mirrors and make noises. Blaine loves to pull Mommy’s hair and that’s why she never wears it down anymore! And he loves to bounce on our legs nonstop.

We definitely have been getting better at our routine. It has become more of a handoff when Daddy gets home, so that Mommy can go to the gym. Then we have dinner together before Daddy needs to work on his homework! Then I give Blaine a bath and story before putting him down. He is so great about just laying down to go to sleep. I will put him down and he plays for about 10 minutes before falling asleep. Right now it seems that we can’t get past the 4 a.m. feeding, but that’s okay because that is the only time he wakes up at night and Mommy enjoys that time!
Here’s hoping to a safe and relatively easy trip back to Michigan for us!
